Owner Training Choice’s.

Owner training can take place either in your own home and local town with one of our trainers and your Service Dog travelling to you or you can come to visit us and undergo training at our facility.

1. We Visit You. One of our trainers will travel to you with your trained Service Dog and spend 3 days with you training in your home and local town. This training will include visiting your local shopping centres, restaurants, using public transport and visiting friends and other family members if required. If the Service Dog was trained for a child then we can also include visiting your child’s school plus we will incorporate any other places you go to in your day to day life. You will also be shown the tailored Alerting tasks your Service Dog was trained to provide. Read More

2. You Visit Us. You will usually travel to us on a Saturday/Sunday and start your training at 9am on Monday. This training lasts for 3 days. The training will take place in our local town. The training will consist of the same training as if we were to visit you but we will not be able to visit your child’s school or visit family members homes.

During the first year, those on our puppy programme are responsible for taking our puppies out in public in their service dog jacket to expose them to unfamiliar environments such as shopping centres, cinemas, parks, playgrounds, buses, trains, and also around people of different ages, and other animals, etc. It is critical that the puppies are exposed to the sights, sounds and smells they will encounter as service dogs. You are also responsible for maintaining the puppies’ health care by scheduling and transporting the puppy to your local vet for routine veterinary appointments.

Once you have filled out the relevant enquiry form, we have spoken with you over the phone and we believe we are able to help you, we will then require you to email us confirmation of a diagnosis from your G.P. or Hospital we will then be in a position to offer you a service puppy/dog. You will receive your service puppy aged 10+ weeks.

All of our dogs are highly trained to the standards laid down by the most respected assistance dog organisation, the ADEu (Assistance Dogs Europe) using the same principles of care and training.
